Concrete, some flooding, and an expensive patch of grass

Classy looking garage doors
To keep the hooligans off our newly poured concrete
floor in the garage.

Concrete was also poured for the basement floor -
this is looking down through the cutout for the stairs.

Master bedroom has a bit of a flooding issue.
This is being addressed.

One of our not so lovely new neighbors complained to
the Village about the parkway grass, so the landscapers
are billing us $20 every other week to cut this minuscule area.
(From the edge of the photo to the end of the fence just past the light pole,)
Highway robbery if you ask me.

We finally have windows!

After a delay due to a manufacturing defect, the windows have finally been installed!

Hole is for drainage off the balcony. We're not quite sure how
it is going to work...updates as they become available.

Ready for ComEd to provide us power so work can begin inside!
Next up is rough in of electrical, plumbing, etc. The construction superintendent is also working on the design of the cabinetry throughout the house. And we need to select our garage doors and tile. Move in is scheduled for a little over 5 months from now!

Not much new to report

Windows were supposed to be going in last week, and they haven't started yet, so I guess we are behind schedule now. Hopefully we'll make that up along the way. After the windows the work moves inside, the 'rough in' stage. We have to have a design meeting soon to layout our kitchen, but we have been waiting for a month now for the appliance pricing, since the appliances dictate the cabinetry size. If we are over budget we'll have to make some adjustments. I refuse to go over budget this early in the game.

Anyway, there had been some (joking...I hope) talk of gargoyles on the house. I don't think this is what Greg had in mind though.

Let's have a closer look, shall we?
